Later it was confirmed on Twitter that Seann William Scott and Josh Peck would reprise their roles of Crash and Eddie while the screenplay was announced to be written by Ray DeLaurentis and William Schifrin.

They also announced that it would have a premiere on Disney+ on early 2022. On December 2020, it was revealed at the Disney Expo that a Buck spin-off film was almost finished and that it would be titled Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild and it was announced that Simon Pegg would reprise his role of Buck and that Crash and Eddie would be in the film.
